Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber agreement to fund July 4 parade security

The Enumclaw City Council voted on June 22 to authorize an amendment to the provision-of-service agreement with the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce to provide additional funding for July 4 parade security.
City Clerk Jessica (S10) read Resolution No. 1,881, which the parks staff said would allocate $15,000 previously authorized by council. Parks Director Lina Hicks (S3) explained the proposed breakdown: $8,500 for barriers lining the parade route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff who will help staff the event, and $4,000 to the Chamber for hiring security and event staff. "The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up, of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said.
Councilmember (S4) moved to approve Resolution 1,881; the motion was seconded and approved on a voice vote. The council formally authorized the mayor to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Chamber’s provision-of-service agreement to provide the additional parade security funding.
The resolution implements previously authorized funding to support parade safety and event staffing for the July 4 celebration.
