Council approves emergency library roof repair and declines transfer of unused library funds

"If we're going to be now spending more money to fix the library's roof, I don't think we should be moving the money to a trust fund," a council member said during debate.
The council authorized staff to solicit contractor estimates to repair the roof and passed a motion to decline the transfer of unused library funds so those dollars remain available for repair work. Staff will return with contractor bids and a recommended funding plan for the repair.
