Committee accepts $6,000 donation to support Edge of Leadership trip

"I'll be looking for an approval and a vote, to accept a donation on behalf of the Greater Lowell Technical High School Charitable Foundation of $6,000 to Greater Lowell Technical High School to be used to assist with funding for the Edge of Leadership program this coming summer," the superintendent said.
A committee member moved to accept the donation and another committee member seconded the motion. The motion passed on a roll-call/voice vote; the record shows committee members responded in the affirmative and one abstention was recorded during the roll call. The superintendent later clarified the foundation gift will be used to offset the travel and program costs for the students.
The decision ensures the foundation funds will be available to reduce out-of-pocket costs for the Edge of Leadership trip this summer. No further conditions or restrictions on the donation were stated at the meeting. The committee adjourned after completing the vote.
