The Joint Loss Management Committee met March 25, 2025, to inspect town facilities and review maintenance records, concluding the Transfer Station and Highway Garage presented no immediate safety concerns.
Committee members recorded a Transfer Station walk‑through and completed the attached checklist; the facility was described as clean and orderly. The minutes note that the monthly maintenance form is completed “last Wednesday each month” to satisfy a DES requirement. The committee also recorded that the bailer and compactor are maintained annually and certified by Atlantic Recycling, and that skid steer maintenance is performed in the shop by the Transfer Station manager every 500 hours.
At the Highway Garage the committee completed a walk‑through and checklist and reported no safety concerns. The minutes list recent building maintenance and repairs: plumbing lines replaced with PEX on Jan. 1, 2017; the waste‑oil furnace was replaced with a propane furnace on Jan. 14, 2025; lights were replaced with LEDs and a switch moved off the ceiling on March 11, 2025; and heating coils in the water heater were replaced on Feb. 20, 2025. The record shows the well was replaced with a hand‑dug artesian well on July 1, 2022, and that fuel‑pump filters were replaced on June 1 of 2022, 2023 and 2024.
The committee compiled a list of additional town properties to be reviewed in future sessions, including Crystal Lake Park, town fire stations, Old Town Hall, the Public Safety Building and Town Hall; the Highway Garage and Transfer Station were recorded as reviewed on March 25. No other business was raised.
Bre Daigneault moved to close the meeting; Travis Mitchell seconded, and the committee adjourned at 2:40 p.m. The minutes were recorded by Amanda Davis, Administrative Assistant. The next Joint Loss Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., to be held at the Iron Works Fire Station and the Public Safety Complex.
