Board hears locker-room and facilities updates; $872,000 saved for turf field

Chair Brodie Deshaies responded by reviewing the lease agreement practice, reminding the board that a warrant article regarding the Pop Whalen locker-room MOU had been voted down earlier in the year, and suggested Ms. Seibel request the lease agreement from the Town of Wolfeboro.
In committee reporting, Building & Maintenance Chair James Pittman said committee members and emergency management officials from Effingham, Tuftonboro and Ossipee discussed improving emergency shelter equipment and facilities, reviewed capital-improvement-plan information and considered a solar-power conversation with Barrington Power. The committee also reported ongoing work pursuing lead remediation grants for the district’s schools.
Pittman said the district has saved $872,000 to replace the turf field and that there is “compelling evidence that it can be replaced with safe materials,” according to the minutes. Ms. Seibel noted she discovered some MOUs omitted the word "Regional" in the district name; Chair Deshaies confirmed this will be corrected.
