Board votes to replace all turf-field materials after testing; SAU will provide results

The Governor Wentworth Regional School Board on March 10 approved a motion to replace all materials in the district's turf field after the Building & Maintenance Committee reported on testing results and recommended full replacement.
Committee member James Pittman explained the committee's continued consideration of the turf-field replacement and shared that new testing results informed the committee’s recommendation. The motion to replace all turf materials was moved by Guy Pike and seconded by Charlene Seibel. Discussion noted negligible positive test results, that removal and disposal costs were included in the vendor quote, and that the district does not intend to reuse existing materials. Guy Pike called the question; the motion passed with one no vote from Ms. Seibel.
Public commenters had asked for documentation related to replacement materials and testing: Bobbi Boudman requested a copy of the PACE reports and more detail on replacement materials and crumble. The administration (SAU) agreed to provide testing results to the Board.
The Board did not specify a contractor or timeline for replacement in the minutes; the SAU’s committed testing report will be distributed to the Board at a later date.
