GWRSD board approves assistant superintendent nomination, teacher hire and accepts principal resignation

The Governor Wentworth Regional School Board on March 10 voted to accept several personnel actions, including the superintendent’s nomination of Dr. Katey Hills as assistant superintendent and the hiring of a full-time teacher for the 2025–26 school year.
In the meeting held at Crescent Lake School, the nomination of Dr. Katey Hills for assistant superintendent was moved by James Pittman and seconded by Guy Pike; the motion passed with one dissenting vote from board member Charlene Seibel. The board also approved the nomination of Aaron Bronson as a 100% teacher for the 2025–26 school year (Track 4 / Step 14) at a salary of $94,986. That motion was moved by Mary Schillereff and seconded by Dr. Elizabeth Sheckler and carried unanimously.
The Board approved a manifest education hardship request allowing student JP to attend Kingswood Regional High School for the duration of their high school career; the motion was moved by Ms. Schillereff and seconded by Guy Pike and passed unanimously. The Board also accepted with appreciation the letter of resignation from Principal Brian Beaverstock; that acceptance passed unanimously.
The motions were conducted in non-public session earlier in the evening under RSA 91-A:3, II (b) for personnel matters and were returned to public session at 7:01 p.m. The superintendent present at the meeting was Caroline Arakelian. The Board’s votes on the personnel items were recorded by roll call and are reflected in the official minutes.
Next steps: the district will proceed with onboarding for the appointed assistant superintendent and the newly hired teacher; the administration did not specify exact start dates in the meeting minutes.
