The Governor Wentworth Regional School Board on Dec. 12, 2024, in the SAU building conference room accepted the retirement of Assistant Superintendent Heather Cummings and approved multiple personnel and interdistrict agreements, the board recorded.
The board first moved into a non-public session at 5:01 p.m. under RSA 91-A:3, II to discuss personnel and legal matters; the motion was made by Jim Pittman and seconded by Dr. Elizabeth Sheckler and carried. The minutes state that personnel and legal matters were discussed in non-public session.
During that non-public session the board voted to accept the retirement of Assistant Superintendent Heather Cummings. Guy Pike moved the retirement motion, Charlene Seibel seconded it, and the board approved the retirement “with heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation.” The motion passed by voice vote as recorded in the minutes.
The board also approved the superintendent employment contract "as presented." The motion to approve the contract was moved by Jim Pittman and seconded by Mary Schillereff. The recorded vote on the superintendent contract was eight in favor and one opposed (Charlene Seibel cast the lone no vote).
Separately, the board approved the GWSSA agreement “as written.” That motion was moved by Guy Pike and seconded by Charlene Seibel and was recorded as passed. The board additionally approved a Tuition Agreement and a Superintendent Services Agreement with the Middleton School District; that motion was moved by Mary Schillereff and seconded by Dr. Elizabeth Sheckler and was recorded as passed.
Dr. Elizabeth Sheckler left the meeting at 6:07 p.m.; Ms. Charlene Seibel left at 6:08 p.m. At 6:08 p.m. the board voted to end the non-public session, and at 6:09 p.m. Guy Pike moved and Dr. James Manning seconded a motion to adjourn, which the board approved.
The minutes note that they were "Respectfully submitted" by the School Board Secretary and that the board approved the minutes on Jan. 6, 2025.
