City Administrator April Baxter informed the Board that the Platte County Board of Elections had not received or certified any ballots for the 2026 General Municipal Election. Because no certified election returns were available, the Board voted to allow current trustees to continue in their positions pending majority approval by the sitting Board.
Trustee Grant Lewton moved to reappoint Trustee Mathew Damm and Trustee Elizabeth Damm as Trustees; Trustee Elizabeth Damm seconded. The motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote (Elizabeth Damm—aye; Mathew Damm—aye; Grant Lewton—aye).
Following that motion, Trustee Elizabeth Damm moved that existing board members retain their current officer and commissioner roles: Elizabeth Damm to remain Chairman; Mathew Damm to remain Emergency/Health/Safety Commissioner; and Grant Lewton to remain Building Commissioner. Trustee Mathew Damm seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes record the procedural steps taken by the Board to fill positions in the absence of certified election results. The Board did not record public objection in the minutes; the reappointments were by internal vote of the three trustees present.
