Trustee and Building Commissioner Grant Lewton told the board Jan. 13 that recent inspections of new mobile homes at Ferrelwood MHP revealed only minor issues — primarily erosion-control needs and missing GFCI outlets for washer/dryer hookups — and that photos had been submitted documenting skirting repairs and a smoke-detector invoice.
Mr. Lewton recommended the village purchase updated building and electrical code books from the International Code Council to ensure enforcement and compliance; he cited the Building Code 2018 Redline Edition at $285 and the National Electrical Code 2017 at $296. City Administrator April Baxter said a resolution to the 2026 budget may be needed to allow the extra expenditures and the board asked her to confirm whether the purchases could fit in the budget or to prepare a resolution for board consideration.
