Bland County board accepts FY25 financial review and approves payroll, bills and school requisition

The Bland County Board of Supervisors unanimously accepted the county's FY25 financial review and approved routine financial items at their Feb. 24 regular meeting at the Bland County Courthouse.
Stephen Kelley moved to approve the FY25 financial report as presented; Patrick Groseclose seconded and the board voted unanimously. The acceptance followed a presentation of the FY25 findings by Corbin Stone, who summarized the county's fiscal-year financial statements and review conclusions.
The board also approved a consent agenda that included minutes (Jan. 15, Jan. 27, Feb. 9 and Feb. 12), payroll issued Jan. 30 ($159,171.77) and Feb. 13 ($147,109.92), bills for February 2026 ($401,384.98) and January 2026 ($123,671.49), and multiple departmental reports from the treasurer, sheriff, animal control, building official, clerk's office, E911 coordinator, zoning and Wolf Creek Indian Village. The consent package recorded a roll-call vote with Supervisors Costello, Groseclose, Kelley and Chair Randy Johnson all voting yea.
The board appropriated $15,732.69 in local allotment for the December 2025 Social Services report and approved the Bland County School Board's March 2026 requisition for $1,128,966.42.
Board members did not debate amendments to the FY25 report on the record. The next procedural step recorded in the minutes is routine implementation of the approved appropriations and processing of payroll and vendor payments.
The board adjourned after completing its consent and financial business.
