Byron council approves fireworks display and Chili Cook-Off advertising
Summary

The Byron Town Council on Aug. 12 approved a pair of community-event requests, authorizing a fireworks display and permitting promotional materials for the annual Chili Cook-Off.
Caleb Sanders introduced Dylan Banks (described in the meeting as ATF licensed) and requested permission to hold a fireworks show at the baseball field on Saturday, Aug. 16. Councilmember Brandon Hessenthaler moved to allow the event; Mikey Brightly seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Public Works Director Jacob Gruell asked the council to allow a promotional display of trophies and winner rings in Town Hall to advertise the Chili Cook-Off scheduled for Oct. 4 at Jones Park. Karma Sanders moved to approve the advertising table and Brandon Hessenthaler seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Both items were approved during routine business and carry standard operational follow-ups for event coordination and vendor safety compliance.
