Sewer camera finds problem on North Cloud Peak; JUB estimates $144,000 repair

Mayor Allan Clark told the Byron Town Council on Sept. 9 that a sewer-line camera inspection successfully identified the issue on North Cloud Peak and that JUB produced an estimate to repair the line totaling $144,000.
Clark said the estimate exceeds the town’s available funds and that the project is therefore at a standstill until funding can be identified. The council did not take formal action to authorize the repair at the Sept. 9 meeting.
The council previously approved using a camera to diagnose the line; Mayor Clark reported the camera “worked well” and revealed the scope of work needed. No schedule, contractor selection or financing plan was presented at the meeting.
Next steps discussed informally include identifying funding options and returning the item to a future agenda once a funding strategy is available.
