Byron Mayor Allan Clark convened a Town Council work meeting on June 10, 2025, at Byron Town Hall to continue line-by-line review of the 2025–26 draft budget and to hear a bank recommendation about expiring certificates of deposit.
Mayor Allan Clark introduced a Bank of Lovell recommendation that several of the town's expiring certificates of deposit that belong to the same fund be combined into one account per fund to streamline accounting and accrue more interest. Council members received the suggestion favorably, but the minutes record no formal motion or vote on consolidation.
Clerk/Treasurer Kristin Sanders led the council through additions to the budget worksheet since the previous work meeting, noting that some line items will not carry over into the new fiscal year because they are no longer needed. The council began its review at the back of the packet, starting with the Mosquito Fund; discussion then moved to the Raw Water Fund, Water Fund and Sewer Fund. The minutes do not specify dollar amounts or the precise line-item changes discussed.
During review of shop-related line items, council members raised the possibility of purchasing a new truck for the Public Works Department. The idea was discussed but no action was taken and no procurement direction was recorded in the minutes.
With the Regular Town Council Meeting scheduled to begin, Mayor Clark adjourned the work meeting. The minutes were signed as pending approval by Mayor Allan Clark and attested by Clerk/Treasurer Kristin Sanders.
