Byron council approves audit assistance, rec-district contract and building handrail repair

At the Aug. 12 meeting the Byron Town Council approved hiring auditor Wade Hirschi to assist with the state F66 report, authorized the mayor to sign the Big Horn County School District #1 Rec District 2025-26 contract, and approved replacement of a broken back handrail at Town Hall.
The Byron Town Council on Aug. 12 approved several administrative contracts and maintenance work, including auditor support for a state reporting deadline and a recreation-district contract.
Clerk/Treasurer Kristin Sanders told the council the F66 state report deadline is approaching and proposed hiring auditor Wade Hirschi of Star Valley to assist; Karma Sanders moved and Brandon Hessenthaler seconded approval of the proposal, and the motion passed unanimously.
The council also authorized Mayor Allan Clark to sign a 2025-26 contract with Big Horn County School District #1 Rec District; Councilman Brandon Hessenthaler made the motion, seconded by Shae Abraham. The motion passed unanimously.
On building maintenance, the council reviewed a quote from Griffis Quality Fencing to replace a broken back handrail at Town Hall and to add a front entrance handrail. After discussion the council approved only the back-handrail replacement; Brandon Hessenthaler moved to accept the quote for the back rail and Mikey Brightly seconded the motion.
Council members deferred signing Resolution 23-2025, related to a Sidon Irrigation District grant and JUB Engineering, saying they lacked sufficient information and would take up the resolution at a Special Meeting.
The council took these actions during a regular business session and directed staff to report back on timelines and documentation for the contracts and repairs.
