The Davie County Board of Commissioners voted to go into closed session to "establish or to instruct the public body staff or negotiating agents concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the public body and negotiating the price and other material terms of a contract or proposed contract for the acquisition of real property," and to consider the qualifications, competence or performance and appointment of public officers or employees, as cited under the statutory authority read into the record.
County Attorney Vogler read the statutory provisions the board relied on for the closed session and the board then moved into a closed session after a motion and second. The board later returned to open session; no public details were released during the recorded portion of the meeting about the substance of closed-session discussions.
The meeting resumed briefly after closed session and the board adjourned for the evening.
