Chairman Jones made a motion to enter closed session "pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(6) to consider qualifications, competence, performance, character and fitness of an individual public officer and 143-318.11(a)(5) to establish or instruct staff on negotiating the price of proposed real-property acquisition." The motion was seconded and the board voted to go into closed session. The meeting reconvened after a short break and the board moved to adjourn.
No public votes on personnel or property negotiations were recorded in the open transcript and no roll-call vote tallies were announced on the record for those items. The board's adjournment followed customary closing remarks and holiday wishes.
