Zoning board elects officers, notes new code-enforcement officer and planner timetable

At the close of the July 9 meeting the Alton Zoning Board of Adjustment elected officers for the 2026–27 term and recorded routine staffing updates.
Board members nominated and accepted Joe Mancos as chair, Frank Rich as vice chair and Tom Lee as secretary; the nominations were approved by voice vote. The board also announced a new code enforcement officer began duties about two weeks ago, and members said the town expects a new planner to be in place by the end of the month.
Members approved the board minutes from May 7, 2026 by motion and voice vote and thanked staff for preparing the agenda and materials. The meeting adjourned shortly after the elections.
The elected officers will preside over future hearings and routine zoning business; the board noted members will support the new chair as needed.
