River Ridge CDD terminates Laz's Lawn Service, hires GulfScapes; approves irrigation repairs

Separately, the board approved an Irrigation Concepts change order to repair damaged wiring and raise about seven to eight irrigation heads. The change order was described as $4,002.50 for wiring repairs and about $1,300 per head; the board authorized the work in a not‑to‑exceed amount of $15,000. The irrigation motion was made by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Bob Schultz, and passed unanimously.
The landscape engagement motion to hire GulfScapes and terminate Laz's was made by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Bob Schultz, and passed with all supervisors voting in favor. Management was authorized to execute the termination and new agreement immediately.
Staff will monitor landscaping performance and provide cost‑and‑work updates at future meetings; board members discussed budget offsets and contract execution steps.
