Premier Lakes reports algae and quieter compressor; board delays Lake E4-A plantings and reviews Pinehurst inlet repair estimate

At the July 23 River Ridge CDD meeting, Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes told the Board that lakes, preserves and dry retention areas were generally in good condition but noted seasonal algae growth and that a palm tree on Lake E7A shoreline had been removed. He said a cabinet installed around a compressor lowered the Master Lake sound level from 64 to 52 decibels, which he described as "acceptable." Operations Manager Shane Willis cautioned that the concern is the aerator's tone rather than decibel level and said staff will evaluate moving the compressor; Mr. Willis and Mr. Kurth will coordinate and report back at the next meeting.
Because of the compressor/noise issue and outstanding easement or agreement matters with the Edgewater Association, the Board agreed to pause plantings in Lake E4-A until an agreement acceptable to all parties is reached. Mr. Schultz also summarized edgewater-related flooding and littoral planting proposals; staff will meet with Edgewater representatives to seek a solution.
Mr. Adams presented an estimate from MRI Construction, Inc. (Estimate #C060-24) for $10,692.88 to install a Type 9 inlet top at Pinehurst to help keep debris from blocking the structure. The board noted an additional proposal is being obtained and the item will remain on the agenda for future consideration. Premier Lakes' representative left the call after the update.
Separately, Shane Willis presented the Annual Quality Assurance audit for lake maintenance and dry retention, reporting high water levels and no compliance issues and recommending the audit be scheduled earlier next year.
