District unveils media-center designs and construction progress at four schools

The middle school media center will combine STEM and makerspace areas and includes multiple small-group rooms and a new south entrance; Avon and Novas elementary designs prioritize makerspaces and operable walls for flexible large-group use; Woodview presented an L-shaped challenge with relocated teacher workspaces and added individual toilet rooms to meet building needs.
Dan from Bear Construction said heavy construction and layout work are complete and the projects have moved into the finishes phase: drywall is up, painting has started, and ceilings and flooring installation are next. "We're kinda past the major renovation work, and now we're just under the finishes," he said. The design team emphasized acoustic treatments such as fabric-covered panels and diffusers to limit echo in high-volume collaborative spaces.
Administrators outlined the procurement timeline: final design committee meetings through September, furniture selection in October, bids in October and anticipated award in November. Board members asked to schedule tours to view the work in progress.
