The Lincoln Village Council approved requests related to the fire department at its July 7 meeting.
Nate Walker delivered the fire-department report, saying the department responded to 16 medical calls and six fires in the prior period and that a water-supply shuttling class is scheduled this month. On a motion by Council Member Durham with support from Council Member Lucas, council approved the Lincoln Firefighters Auxiliary's use of 2nd Street for a car show; the auxiliary will apply for a license to sell beer and will serve breakfast under the Veterans pavilion with vendors along the street.
Council also approved purchasing a laptop to be used by the person writing grants for the fire department (motion by Durham, support Sharboneau). Both motions were recorded as carried.
