The Columbus Common Council approved several personnel and procurement items Tuesday night, including a revised job description and compensation for the Public Works Utilities Director and authorization to create and recruit for a Utilities Assistant Director position.
Council accepted a motion to approve the director job description and delegation to allow a working title change later. Council later approved creation of the Utilities Assistant Director position and authorized recruitment with a corrected CDL requirement (changed from Class A to Class B) and flexibility in title.
The council also approved an RFP for legal services that permits a separate proposal for prosecution services and approved an RFP for auditing services that staff recommended running on a roughly five-year rotation to ensure pricing and timeliness. The council awarded a quote to Peak Garage Doors for apparatus bay door opener and springs replacement not to exceed $9,115.
Roll calls were conducted on compensation and some personnel votes; where recorded, roll calls showed unanimous 'Aye' outcomes on the personnel and procurement votes reported in the meeting.
