The Columbus Common Council reelected Molly Finkler as council president in a secret-ballot vote Tuesday night, with the council recording unanimous support during the ballot count.
The vote came after nominations and three rounds of solicitation for additional candidates. A council member nominated Finkler; the clerk recorded votes in the assembly, and the chair announced unanimous support and welcomed the reelected council president.
The election cleared the way for the council to take up several agenda items, including a development agreement for a Lamps Landing LLC project, RFP approvals and personnel items. The council moved quickly through the consent agenda after the election and then addressed the development agreement later in the meeting.
The council did not record any dissent during the ballot, and the chair announced the result publicly before proceeding with the rest of the agenda.
