Fundays organizers ask Alexandria for volunteers, signage and temporary road closures

During the public-comment period, Dean Schiller, speaking for Fundays, requested municipal support for the festival scheduled the weekend of July 16–18. He also asked about blocking streets near the lake and Block 37 for about an hour on Saturday, July 18 starting at about 11 a.m.; organizers said first responders and the sheriff's department can handle closures but the sheriff's department would charge for the service.
Mayor Barnes said the village would follow up this week on publicity and whether the village will staff a booth for Senior's Day.
