City Engineer Matthew Glass updated the Storm Water Committee on regional and local projects at the July 1 meeting.
Glass said the Thornhurst stream restoration crews entered the stream that day and expect the work to take about one and a half to two months. The Cedar Estates detention basin project is awaiting one final easement before the regional sewer district (NEORSD) can bid the work, likely in August. The Applewood culvert replacement has been delayed because the Wildwood vacation process is not complete; Glass said that project will most likely move into 2026.
Glass also said leftover cost‑share funds from prior basin maintenance will be used to clean out the York Rd basin near Mr. Divot’s, which residents reported has refilled with shale; Glass did not have the exact remaining funding figure at the meeting.
Wastewater Superintendent Ed Haller said main‑cleaning occurs around service calls and that staff prioritize responsiveness; Chair Heidi Webber and others noted greater ditch and swale maintenance needs after heavy recent rains.
The committee had no formal votes on these projects at the meeting; Glass and Law Director Tom Kelly noted easement and bidding steps that staff are addressing.
