Bridgeport board approves routine measures, swears in new officer and approves checks

At its Sept. 2 meeting the Bridgeport Township Board unanimously approved a firearm disposal list, a $2,700 Tri Terra change order, accounts payable checks totaling $318,644.78, and Clerk Eddie Foxx administered the oath to new officer David Wheaton II.
The Bridgeport Charter Township Board took several administrative and fiscal actions during its Sept. 2 regular meeting, approving routine motions and formalizing a new police hire.
Clerk Eddie Foxx administered the Oath of Office to Police Officer David Wheaton II, bringing the department to full staffing of 11 officers.
On motions by Trustee Placher (seconded by Trustee Williams) the board approved a firearm disposal list and, on a separate motion by Placher (seconded by McFarland), approved a Tri Terra Tier II site-specific change order related to MSHDA work in the amount of $2,700. All motions on these items passed unanimously.
The board also approved accounts payable checks numbered #74251 through #74356 in the total amount of $318,644.78 on a motion by Placher, seconded by McFarland; vote recorded Ayes: 7.
Additionally, the board adopted the meeting agenda and approved the Aug. 5, 2025 meeting minutes earlier in the session. These routine approvals and the oath of the new officer were recorded in the meeting minutes and supporting attachments.
