Bridgeport Fire Department logs 95 June calls; firefighter departs for Michigan State Police

Chief David Smigiel presented the Bridgeport Fire Department report on July 1, 2025, recording 95 calls for service in June 2025 and 624 calls year-to-date for 2025.
Smigiel announced that firefighter Connor Hickey will leave the department to begin training with the Michigan State Police at the upcoming academy. The department thanked Hickey for his service and wished him luck.
The report also noted the department received a Nutella Pancake Fundraiser Breakfast kit after being nominated; the kit included pancake mix, griddle tools, Nutella spread and a $100 gift card. Chief Smigiel thanked community members who attended the department’s pancake breakfast on June 7.
