Bridgeport manager reports wastewater deficit in 2024 audit; IT review and master plan work underway

Township Manager Chris Shannon presented the Manager’s Report to the Bridgeport Charter Township Board on July 1, 2025, noting several administrative and planning items of local importance.
Shannon said the 2024 annual audit is complete and identified a wastewater deficit; the audit was submitted to the state to report that deficiency. He said a water-rate analysis is nearly complete by Michigan Rural Water at no cost to the township and that he expects to present that analysis at an upcoming Committee of the Whole meeting.
On information technology, Shannon reported the township reviewed current IT needs and solicited requests for quotes from incumbent provider Abadata and three additional interested vendors. In planning and zoning, he said grant-funded work with Rowe Professional Services on the Master Plan is ongoing and that public-outreach survey responses were being incorporated.
Shannon also noted preliminary preparation for the 2026 fiscal-year budget, with meetings with department heads to be scheduled later in the summer.
