Salisbury planning board recommends no change to SOP on Class 6 road liability after HB 296 summary

Town Administrator April Rollins summarized House Bill 296 at the April 20 Salisbury Planning Board meeting and explained that, under the bill, the Planning Board would not need to review Class 6 road liability waivers if the town has an established process.
Rollins described the current practice under S.O.P. #05-001, which routes applicants to the Selectboard, then to the Planning Board for review, and then back to the Selectboard for a final decision. Vice Chair Dobroslav Slavenskoj and member Joe Schmidl said Planning Board input has been useful in past waiver discussions.
Chair Loretta Razin moved that the Planning Board recommend the Selectboard not change S.O.P. #05-001; Ken Egounis seconded the motion and it passed with no members opposed. The recommendation preserves the board’s role in reviewing Class 6 road liability matters under the existing procedure.
The board made no formal amendment to S.O.P. #05-001 but recorded its recommendation to the Selectboard for consideration.
