At the March 5, 2026 Village of Tobaccoville Council meeting, Administrator Lori Shore provided several operational updates and the council gave staff directions to address park maintenance and community programming.
Shore told the council the Primary Election was held March 3 and reminded members that newly elected councilors must complete two hours of ethics training within their first year. She also noted that daylight saving time begins March 8, and Village Park hours during DST will be 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Council members discussed an old organ previously donated to the village and, by consensus, agreed to have Administrator Shore declare the instrument of no value and arrange donation to a local church. The council also instructed Shore to proceed with purchasing a new television, projector and stand for the Community Center; the record shows this as an instruction to staff rather than a roll-call motion.
The council directed Administrator Shore to contact Tobacco Ridge to remove tree stumps and overgrowth in a newly cleared section of the park so the site can be seeded for grass. Mayor Mark Baker announced that the PARC Committee will host the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Village Park; a food truck will attend the event.
These items were recorded as part of the administrator update; no public comments were received during the meeting.
