The Village of Tobaccoville council unanimously accepted Council Member Lori Shore's resignation on June 5, 2025 after Shore assumed the position of village administrator amid the planned retirement of Administrator Dan Corder.
Council Member Mark Baker moved to accept Shore's resignation and Council Member Carla Hall seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The council recorded that Shore will assume the administrator role as Corder prepares to retire.
To fill the vacant council seat, Council Member Boyce Shore moved to appoint resident Chris Starling; Council Member Mark Baker seconded and the vote was unanimous. Starling agreed to accept the appointment and is scheduled to be sworn in at the July 3, 2025 council meeting.
Separately, the council voted unanimously to appoint Council Member Boyce Shore as mayor pro tem after Council Member Mark Baker's motion and Council Member Carla Hall's second. Boyce Shore accepted the mayor pro tem appointment.
