The Atlantic Beach Town Council entered closed session at 10:56 a.m. on Feb. 12 pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6) to consider the qualifications, competence, performance and conditions of appointment of the town manager.
In closed session councilmembers discussed extending Town Manager John O'Daniel's employment agreement and increasing severance from four months' salary to six months. O'Daniel remained in attendance until approximately 11:15 a.m. No formal action was taken in closed session. The council unanimously voted to exit closed session at 12:15 p.m.
