The Tamworth Planning Board voted June 10 to approve a revised contract with LRPC to complete six chapters of the town Master Plan, increasing the scope from a previously agreed Housing chapter to multiple topics and raising the contract cost to $23,000. The vote was taken at the planning board’s work session, which was called to order at 5:36 p.m. by Elsa Weintraub.
Lianne Prentice, the Select Board representative to the planning board, reviewed the contract changes and said LRPC will do most of the chapter writing and that the timeline calls for the work to be finished by the end of the town’s budget season. The board agreed to approve the contract "as written," subject to the Selectboard’s approval to use contingency funds to cover the additional cost.
A motion to approve the contract, made by Ann Pollard and seconded by Anna Paddock, was recorded as approved unanimously; the minutes do not record a numerical vote tally. Board members discussed how the school is currently rolled into the proposed infrastructure chapter and whether the school should be developed separately at a later date, but no change to that placement was recorded at the meeting.
The approval authorizes staff to finalize the contract with LRPC and move forward with the Master Plan process pending the Selectboard’s decision on funding. The board adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
