Aplington council approves consent agenda, salaries resolution and infrastructure agreements

At its June 10 meeting the Aplington City Council approved the consent agenda, which included the May 13 minutes, financial report ending May 2026 and a list of claims. The claims list presented by the clerk showed a grand total of $368,918.96 in the packet.
Council also approved building permits for Aaron Mulder, Tom Stewart and Tracy Jones. The council approved Resolution 553-26 setting salaries and wages for appointed officers and employees; Prier moved to approve the resolution, Wolff seconded and the motion passed by roll call (all ayes).
The council approved the Iowa DOT Agreement for Maintenance & Repair of Primary Roads in Municipalities and the Reliability Plan for the Iowa Utilities Commission by unanimous motions. The clerk noted that the Community Club had been contacted by the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus about a one‑day event; councilors expressed no objections.
Public Works staff reported that the Circle Drive underground project is complete, pole removal will occur at a later date, and Dumont Telephone continues underground fiber installation across town. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn at 7:16 p.m.
