The Montana Transportation Commission unanimously approved low-bid awards for four projects from the April 9, 2026 letting and accepted an award recommendation for the Kagy Boulevard (19th to Willson) contract during a virtual meeting on April 21.
MDT staff presented the recommendations to the commission. Dave Gates of MDT summarized the April 9 letting results and recommended awards for the following apparent low bidders: NH 12(258)169 Stanton–Essex (Missoula), bid $6,495,895.95, Schellinger Construction Co., Inc.; NH 13(99)222 Browning–Urban (Great Falls), bid $2,228,581.00, Schellinger Construction Co., Inc.; HSIP STWD(95 1) SF229 Helena pedestrian improvements (Great Falls), bid $842,469.00, Helena Sand & Gravel, Inc. dba Montana Materials & Construction; and HSIP 243(64)96 SF179 N-24 Curve safety improvements (Great Falls), bid $399,992.40, Mountain West Holding Company.
Commissioner Loran Frazier moved to approve the staff recommendations for call numbers 101–104; Commissioner Scott Aspenlieder seconded the motion. All commissioners voted aye and the awards were approved.
Separately, staff presented an award recommendation memo for UPN 8931000, the Kagy Boulevard project from 19th Street to Willson. Commissioner Scott Aspenlieder moved to approve the award recommendation; Commissioner Noel Sansaver seconded. The commission voted unanimously to accept the recommendation.
