Council amends FY2024–25 budget and mill calculations; treasurer flags library revenue change

The Three Forks City Council on Nov. 12 approved a resolution (to be numbered #433-2024) amending the fiscal year 2024–25 budget and the mills to be levied.
City Treasurer Kelly Smith explained a small adjustment changed the budgeted mills from 79.64 to 79.7 — a difference of 0.06 in mill value that she said amounted to roughly $49 per mill in taxable-dollar value. Kelly also stated the County will provide additional library funding tied to the calculation, which may require the city to amend its revenue line to reflect the extra funding. City Attorney Susan Swimley confirmed that under the agreement the city must keep the library open to County residents, and that an amendment would be required if revenues change.
Councilman Garret Buchanan moved to approve Resolution #433-2024; Councilwoman Reagan Hooton seconded. The motion passed 5–0.
The council instructed staff to reflect the updated mill calculations and to return to council with any formal budget amendments needed to record additional County-provided library revenue.
