The Montana Transportation Commission voted Feb. 17 to approve three construction contracts from the Feb. 5 letting, awarding a combined $12,287,976.05 in low bids.
Commissioner Kody Swartz moved to approve call numbers 101–103 as recommended by staff; Commissioner Scott Aspenlieder seconded the motion, and the motion carried with four commissioners voting aye and Commissioner Loran Frazier offline and not voting.
Wade Salyards, presenting staff recommendations for the projects, summarized the low bids and contractors. Call 101 (NH 102(47)29, UPN 10311000 — Fort Benton–West) received a low bid of $5,500,000.00 from Schellinger Construction Co., Inc.; the contract lists 55 working days and identifies Great Falls as the district. Call 102 (STPP 61(186)90, UPN 10539000 — PERMA E & W) reported a low bid of $4,095,565.25 from Riverside Contracting, Inc.; the project lists 40 working days and the district of Missoula. Call 103 (HSIP-CR 5826(2), UPN 9188000 — SF 169 Lincoln Applegate intersection) had a low bid of $2,692,410.80 from Hoffmans R & M Services, LLC; that project lists 90 working days and Great Falls as the district.
