Calhoun County commissioners approved certification of a Transportation Asset Management Plan required by Public Act 325 (2018) at the Oct. 15 meeting. Administrator Kelli Scott explained the 2018 law requires road agencies to inventory infrastructure assets, document their condition, and analyze funding needed to meet realistic condition goals. Road Department Engineering Director Kristine Parsons highlighted mapping and the county’s five‑year improvement plans and answered commissioners’ questions about overall-road condition targets.
The board approved the Public Act 325 certification by roll-call vote (Res.179-2020). Commissioners discussed the annual review of five-year plans for each township and affirmed the county’s approach to tracking road-condition improvements.
