Calhoun County approves multiple contract awards and hires ERP selection consultant

At its Oct. 15 meeting the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners approved several procurement and contracting actions affecting county operations.
Administrator Kelli Scott reported one compliant bidder met specifications for RFB#113-20 (Organic Additive); the board approved the award (Res.180-2020). The board also approved awarding RFB#121J-20 for mineral aggregate used by the Road Department (Res.182-2020). Assistant Administrator Brad Wilcox said negotiations with Canteen produced pricing below budget and the board approved an extension of the inmate food service contract (Res.178-2020), citing cost savings and continuity. The board additionally approved hiring a consultant to lead the county through selection and implementation of a replacement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with a targeted completion by summer 2021 (Res.181-2020).
Each action passed on recorded roll-call votes with all seven commissioners voting in favor. The ERP selection consultant will assist with drafting bid specifications, vendor selection and implementation support; officials said the software affects finance, payroll and human-resources systems across the county.
