The Calhoun County Board of Commissioners approved the 2020 Apportionment Report and accompanying resolution on Oct. 15, 2020, formalizing each taxing jurisdiction’s authority to levy property taxes for 2020. Deputy Equalization Director Tom Scott presented the transmittal letter signed by Equalization Director Matthew Hansen and walked the board through township, city, village and school-district millage tables and taxable-value comparisons to last year.
The report includes pages for each township, authority, city, village, school district, intermediate school district and community college, showing millage rates and taxable values and comparing them with 2019 figures. The board approved the resolution by roll-call vote (Res.173-2020). No amendments or abstentions were recorded.
By approving the apportionment report, the board enabled local jurisdictions to proceed with levying property taxes under the schedule contained in the report. The board took the action at the meeting convened at 7:01 p.m. and approved the item on a 7-0 recorded vote.
