Best Buddies–certified inclusive playground (Shelter Cove): Council voted 7–0 to support a Best Buddies–certified inclusive playground as part of the previously approved Shelter Cove Park expansion; staff indicated the town would fund the project with programming and branding support from Best Buddies and Miracle Recreation, and schematic design and permitting would proceed with funding to be considered in future budget cycles (fiscal 2026 referenced).
Executive-session follow-ups: After an executive session, council approved three actions by recorded 6–0 votes: authorization for the town manager to execute a revocable license agreement granting right of entry for beach access; authorization for the mayor and town manager to execute a purchase‑and‑sale agreement for approximately 1.286 acres on Pope Avenue; and a 12‑month extension of the town attorney contract under the same terms.
Why it matters: the package of votes moves forward infrastructure and parks projects and resolves immediate real‑estate and contract matters reviewed in executive session. The recorded tallies were unanimous where indicated. Any implementation steps requiring permits or additional funding were noted by staff and will return to council as needed.
