Superintendent presents ambitious '75/75/92' targets; staff outline preliminary accountability gains

Superintendent Dr. Rodriguez used an opening‑day presentation to describe the district's five‑year strategic targets — commonly repeated in the meeting as "75, 75, 92" — and the systems the district plans to use to reach them.
"75 75 92," Rodriguez said, framing the targets as a "moonshot" for the district and listing pillars of support, engagement, achievement and stewardship. He emphasized early childhood readiness, accelerated math recovery and graduation improvements and said the district will rely on PLCs, MTSS and instructional reviews to monitor progress.
Assistant/assessment staff Dr. Stratos presented preliminary state (raw) SC Ready and EOC data and cautioned that the figures are embargoed and will be cleaned for October's official release; she said district trends from 2021–24 show an 8.7‑point increase in ELA (grades 3–8) and a 3.6‑point increase in math. Dr. Stratos also announced the district has been awarded approximately $2.34 million from the Lowcountry Community Foundation over five years to support extended learning sites.
Board members praised the clarity of the message and urged broad community outreach so the public understands the goals and how to support them. Trustees asked for additional evaluation infrastructure so the district can measure return on investment for new programs.
