Tom Dinsdale moved to approve the consent agenda and Boyd Strope seconded; the motion passed on a roll call vote. Chair Jeff Kliment opened the meeting and confirmed that public notice had been published in the Grand Island Independent on Aug. 16 and 17 and posted to the Nebraska public meeting calendar and the Nebraska State Fair website.
Executive Director Jaime Parr provided operational updates for the Labor Day/Veterans Day period, sharing a photo showing heavy attendance and noting that available statistics were preliminary and final numbers were not yet available. Parr said service-dog restrictions were relaxed for the day, vendors were scheduled to close at 7 p.m., and vehicles would not be allowed onto the grounds until foot traffic permitted.
Terry Galloway of the 1868 Foundation briefly mentioned a truck raffle; no details or outcomes for the raffle were recorded in the minutes.
