Three Forks swears in newly elected and appointed officials; next council meeting set for Jan. 13

City Clerk Crystal Turner administered the oath of office to the newly elected and appointed members of the Three Forks City Council and to the mayor during the Dec. 9 meeting. Mayor Randy Johnston and council members recognized outgoing Councilwoman Roxi McDermott for her service; McDermott offered brief remarks of thanks.
Councilman Gene Townsend announced a Dec. 20 holiday gathering for staff and council volunteers. Clerk Turner announced the next council meeting is scheduled for Jan. 13, 2026, beginning with a 5:15 p.m. joint meeting with the Rural Fire District and a 6 p.m. council session that will include election of a council chairman for a two-year term, committee assignments, and the City Clerk annual business license report.
No votes on governance items were taken at the Dec. 9 meeting beyond the administration of oaths; procedural items for Jan. 13 were listed for follow-up.
