Albany commission approves $1,190 invoice, begins 2026 budget planning

The Albany Conservation Commission approved routine administrative items at its Sept. 2 meeting, including the minutes from Aug. 5 and a materials invoice for Town Forest road repairs.

Chair (S2) reported that materials for the road work amounted to $1,190.13 and asked that the commission approve payment from the conservation fund. "the material came to $1,190.13," the chair said. A committee member (S1) moved to approve the payment and the motion carried on a voice vote.

Earlier, a committee member (S3) moved to approve the Aug. 5 minutes and another member (S4) seconded; the minutes were approved unanimously. Toward budget planning, members referenced a prior proposed figure of $3,101 (used as a starting point), with line items discussed as roughly $2,100 for member attendance, $1,000 for operating expenses and $1 listed for legal expenses. The commission directed staff to compile current-year spending and revisit the budget at the next meeting.

Members also set a tentative date for boundary-line painting and trail work, targeting Sunday the 19th (with discussion about hunting-season conflicts) and noted supplies will be charged to operating expenses. A member recommended the paint product Rust-Oleum and suggested buying a gallon and basic tools (brushes, loppers).
