Commission moves toward north-side kiosk at town beach; seeks student volunteers

Potential kiosk content discussed included basic rules of behavior (for example, no camping; carry in, carry out), the Saco watershed map provided by the Saco‑Swift Advisory Committee, Leave No Trace educational materials, invasive species identification information, and fishing regulations.
Steve Frackleton said he would ask the Kennett shop teacher whether students could provide labor to build the kiosk; Colleen Ryan offered extra metal roofing she could donate. Chris Fithian will finalize the kiosk proposal for review at the next Conservation Commission meeting before sharing it with the Select Board. No budget or formal contract was approved at the meeting.
The commission will review the finalized proposal at an upcoming meeting and then forward it to the Select Board for consideration.
