Shenandoah council adopts $3.6 million budget, sets 2026 tax and vehicle license rates

The motion to adopt the budget and accept FY2026'2027 donations totaling $23,900 was made by Council Member Lynn Fox and seconded by Vice Mayor Kite, according to the minutes. The motion was recorded as approved.
The council also enacted tax ordinances establishing a real estate and mobile-home rate of $0.205 per $100 of assessed value, an unexempt tangible personal property rate of $0.40 per $100 (with specified relief provisions for lower-valued personal vehicles to be determined by town staff after assessment), and a machinery and tools rate of $0.60 per $100. Vehicle license fees were set at $25 for cars, trucks, trailers and campers and $15 for motorcycles.
Town Treasurer Christl Huddle submitted the Treasurer's Report showing town funds of $2,518,629.35, which the council approved on a motion by Vice Mayor Kite, seconded by Council Member Christopher Reisinger.
