Council declines River Road water tap; installation contingent on documentation and AECOM agreement

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Shenandoah Town Council declined to approve a water tap for a River Road location because the resident could not provide documentation showing the necessary utility easement.
Town Manager Charlie Jenkins told council the documentation referenced in earlier discussion exists between the resident and AECOM, not the town. Jenkins said the council would install the water tap if the resident produces the required documentation and AECOM agrees to pay for the tap.
Jenkins also reported the town is under a drought watch and staff have been monitoring well water levels, an informational item the Water and Sewer committee noted for ongoing attention. The minutes record the matter as tabled previously and not approved at this meeting; no formal tap installation or exception was granted.
