Lowell board appoints appeals members, discusses expanding board and ambulance service costs

At its March 10 meeting the Town of Lowell board appointed Gwenn Soldner and Matt Yuenger to the Board of Appeals for three-year terms beginning May 1, 2026 and ending April 30, 2029. The motion was made by Supervisor David Huebner, seconded by Supervisor Greg Caine, and carried 3-0.
During review of the Annual Town Meeting agenda, Clerk Kim Mann and board members discussed the financial report, Catalis and the 2026 revaluation, and an intention to consider increasing the number of board members from the current size to five at an upcoming meeting or at the Annual Town Meeting. The minutes record the board discussed the intention but do not show a formal vote to change board size at this meeting.
Chairman John Schmitt reported on the CLR Governing Committee meeting held March 2, 2026, noting discussion about Life Star ambulance services for surrounding communities and how much they would charge per resident. Schmitt also noted the town’s commitment with Beaver Dam Ambulance Service is for five years; the minutes do not include per-resident cost figures or contractual terms.
Deputy Clerk Tracy Scheffler presented an opportunity notice inviting residents to job-shadow Town Board members to explore serving on the board. The minutes do not record public reaction to that notice.
